Job Title: Staff Accountant II
Works under the direction of a Manager or Senior Accountant performing detailed work assignments in one or several of the following areas: receivables, payables, payroll, property, general ledger, and financial statements.
Will have some bookkeeping client assignments for which the individual maintains client records including but not limited to
Operates computers programmed with accounting software to record, store and analyze information.
Checks figures, postings and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy and proper codes.
Classifies, records and summarizes numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or computers.
Debits, credits and totals accounts in computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software.
Receives, records and banks cash, checks and vouchers.
Complies with federal, state, client and company policies, procedures and regulations.
Compiles statistical, financial, accounting or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits and losses as requested.
Codes documents according to company or client procedures.
Reconciles or notes and reports discrepancies found in records
Prepare client accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports, to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standards by company and client.
Prepares tax returns, researches tax questions, prepares schedules, and counsels clients on tax problems under the supervision of a Tax Senior and/or Tax Manager in preparing returns or various schedules for review.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, including special projects.
Performs the detailed work of financial and compliance audits under the supervision of a Senior or Manager in conducting compliance and financial audits, and testing internal controls and information systems
May be responsible with assisting bookkeeper in performance of duties which are delegated to bookkeeper by Staff Level 2.
May be responsible for preliminary cost analyses and report preparation.
Client supporting role with direct correspondence via email and phone and some face-to-face interactions.
May assist less experienced staff members with various questions and perform limited training.
Education & Experience
3 – 5 years of experience
Education – Accounting degree or equivalent completed
CCH Axcess and Engagement software experience preferred

$65,000 - $80,000 Annual Salary Depending on Experience
